Senior C++ Software Engineer

The Role:
  • Be a proactive member of the Scrum team, contributing to successful delivery in line with the Definition of Done
  • Be comfortable breaking down user stories with Acceptance Criteria following BDD formats to execute and automate customer requirements as tests
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the full product lifecycle, from helping to define requirements, all the way through the development process, to customer release
  • Participate in the release of product increments, ensuring release criteria is met
  • Identify, set up and use of development tools and kit
  • Assist with the co-ordination of development practices utilising Agile methodologies
  • Assist with onboarding plans and mentoring of other team members, providing technical guidance on the delivery of development activities
  • Provide support to the wider business and customers where required including product demonstrations
  • Work with the Engineering teams to define coding strategy and best practices
  • Participate in 3 Amigos and refinement sessions across the department as required
  • Produce clear, concise and accurate documentation to support development tasks
  • Champion continuous improvement of development practices, owning and sharing ‘best practice’
  • Participate in ‘Brown Bag’ sessions
  • Identify and implement improvements, enhancing the development processes in line with industry best practice
  • Track down failure in software and proposes ideas to mitigate in future iterations
Interested? We need you to have the following skills and attributes:
  • Experience of working within an Agile team using Scrum and / or Kanban methodologies
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Software Engineer in an Agile Environment
  • Familiar with development frameworks and experience in implementing them using a range of tools and processes
  • Firm believer in the ‘whole team’ approach to quality and champions this belief
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket
  • Willingness to own decisions
  • Product expert across the suite of Titania products
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to use own initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of networking devices along with recognised security and industry standards
  • Problem solver who is not just limited to solving coding issues
  • Experience with using Python
  • Git experience
  • Experience in creating unit tests and performing code reviews
  • Comfortable with pair-programming in a remote environment
  • Understands the importance of DevSecOps to ensure continuous integration and delivery and champions this belief
  • Willingness to assist testers with Quality Assurance tasks (both manual and automated) if required
  • Demonstrate the ability to design solutions considering both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Mentoring experience
