Test Engineer

Titania is at a pivotal moment in its history after securing investment and is now laser-focused on achieving its ambitious growth plans. This role will be critical in establishing the launch of Titania’s Enterprise class solution.
With an exciting and impactful company vision, we are looking to enhance and expand our Software Engineering team with high performing Test Engineers who will be responsible for contributing towards the ongoing development of our products and services.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Software Tester who enjoys working in Agile teams. Someone who understands the importance of a user story but thrives on helping to identify solutions, turning business requirements into functional, working software, trusted by our clients to help secure and protect their networks.
You will need to develop an awareness of various Networking and Pen-testing standards and configurations allowing you to confidently input into the design and features of our software. With an enquiring mind, software quality is at the heart of everything you do, constantly striving to improve overall testing activities whilst helping to deliver robust solutions every day.
Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with your team, Product Owners, Delivery Managers and Architects using agile frameworks to continuously deliver iterations of our software. There are opportunities for on-site days usually twice yearly, where we all get together to share ideas and look forward to our next phase of delivering our product roadmap.
Interested? We need you to have the following skills and attributes:
- Experience of working within an Agile team using Scrum and / or Kanban methodologies
- Comfortable breaking down user stories with Acceptance Criteria following BDD formats to execute and automate customer requirements as tests
- 3-5 years’ experience working as a Software Tester in an Agile Environment
- Experience in both manual and automated planning and test strategies
- Problem solver who is not just limited to solving testing issues
- Willing to participate in design discussions
- Tracks down failure in software and proposes ideas to mitigate in future iterations
- Results orientated with a keen eye for detail
- Believes in the principle of continuous improvement
- Firm believer in the ‘whole team’ approach to quality and champions this belief
- Provides testing expertise throughout the full product lifecycle, from helping to define requirements, all the way through the development process, to customer release
- Comfortable in conducting a diverse range of testing, including both automated and manual, across a range of testing activities such as functional, regression, integration and user acceptance
- Be able to demonstrate test coverage as well as assistance with the prioritisation of testing efforts across the team, helping to shape solutions
- Development and implementation of test plans, test cases and test scripts
- Assist with investigations to confirm the validity of defects, working closely with the team to reproduce and debug errors
- Participate in the release of product increments, ensuring release criteria is met
- Identification, set up and use of test tools, kit and test data
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence and Bitbucket
- Willingness to own decisions
- Desire to become an expert in Titania’s core software and further your skillset
- Happy to participate in regular brown-bag sessions / technical forums
- Mentor team members
- Willingness to participate in customer meetings if required
If you have any of these then that would be a bonus too:
- Experience with using Python
- Git experience
- Jenkins experience
- Mentoring experience
- ISTQB or equivalent certification
- Test automation experience using tools such as Cypress
