Software Team Lead
Are you an experienced Software Team Leader with a passion for all things Cyber-Security? Do you want to work in a fast-paced Agile environment at a pivotal time for the company, looking after our fantastic team who are producing mission-critical software for some of the biggest names in the industry?
With an exciting and impactful company vision, we are looking to enhance and expand our Software Engineering team with a high performing Software Team Leader. This is a newly created role, reporting directly into the Head of Software Operations, responsible for the line management of around 15-20 Engineers.
A key function in the department, you will be dedicated to helping our fantastic Engineering team reach their full potential through 1:1s, goal setting and identifying training needs as well as offering personal support and professional development. A technical background is not necessarily required for this role as you will be supported technically by our Chief Architect, Architect and Lead Engineers. More important will be your excellent communication skills with the ability to support people to become the best they can be.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, shaping our actions on a day-to-day basis. You will work closely with the Head of Software Operations, helping drive the team forwards to meet our delivery commitments, challenging peoples actions and thinking, supporting this where needed, ensuring the best possible experience for our customers.

- Great leadership skills with the ability to motivate, offer personal support and professional development to members of the Engineering team
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Experience of 1:1s and performance management, including objective setting and reviews
- Experience in recruitment and talent management
- Experience of working in a fast-paced small to mid-sized software organisation
- Fantastic communication skills; able to encourage people to be the best version of themselves
- Good awareness of the full software product lifecycle
- Strong influencing skills
- Experience of working within an Agile team using Scrum and / or Kanban methodologies
If you have any of these then that would be a bonus too:
- Agile qualifications e.g. Scrum Master
- Experience working within a Software Development, Software Product or Scrum Master role
- Experience of managing remote / hybrid teams
Typical requirements of the role:
- Responsible for the line management of approx. 15-20 Software Engineers
- Collaborate with Delivery, Product Architects, Support Team Members, and members of the Product team to ensure the team’s skills, products are aligned to meet the business needs and roadmap deliverables
- Contribute to the recruitment, management, and training needs for the Engineering teams including 1:1s, performance and goal setting, coaching, motivating, and supporting the growth of the Engineering team members to ensure the Engineering Team reach their potential
