We are a rapidly growing cyber security software company delivering innovative solutions to a growing customer base across multiple sectors. As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Product Owner to help shape and drive the delivery of our product roadmap.

While experience within cyber security is beneficial, we are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within software houses, SaaS businesses, ecommerce platforms, or fast-paced technology environments where agile delivery and customer-focused product development are central to success.

This role would suit an experienced mid-level Product Owner looking to take ownership within a scaling business and work closely with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, and customers to deliver high-quality software products.

The Role

As Product Owner, you will be responsible for translating product strategy and business requirements into clear, prioritised deliverables for engineering teams. You will own backlog management, facilitate agile ceremonies, and ensure features are delivered in line with customer and commercial priorities.

You will play a key role in balancing stakeholder expectations, delivery timelines, technical considerations, and customer value within a collaborative agile environment using Kanban and sprint-based delivery practices.

Product Delivery & Agile Ownership

    • Own and manage the engineering backlog, ensuring work items are prioritised, refined, and ready for delivery.
    • Translate business requirements, customer feedback, and product strategy into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Ensure engineering teams maintain a healthy pipeline of refined backlog items with sufficient detail to support delivery.
    • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Delivery to clarify requirements and resolve functional queries throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Facilitate refinement sessions, planning and review activities with relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensure features meet agreed acceptance criteria and business outcomes prior to release.
    • Promote and support continuous improvement across product and delivery processes using agile best practices and iterative feedback loops.
    • Work with the CPO to contribute to and maintain product roadmaps aligned to company strategy and customer needs.
    • Support Marketing with feature positioning, product collateral, webinars, release communications, and website content where required.
    • Engage with Support and Compliance teams to ensure customer feedback, defects, and operational issues are appropriately prioritised.
    • Act as a key liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.
    • Maintain clear Definitions of Ready and Definitions of Done for backlog items and feature delivery.
    • Ensure acceptance criteria are measurable, testable, and aligned to customer and business expectations.
    • Support the program management team with effective release governance, change management, and delivery reporting where required.
    • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of product management and agile delivery standards across the business.

Skills & Experience

Essential

    • Proven experience as a Product Owner within a software development, SaaS, or technology-led business.
    • Strong experience working in agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery models.
    • Demonstrable experience managing and prioritising product backlogs in collaboration with engineering teams.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and commercial teams.
    • Experience writing high quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
    • Ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, and commercial priorities.
    • Experience working closely with cross-functional software engineering teams in a fast paced delivery environment.

Desirable

    • Experience within cyber security, compliance, or risk based technology products.
    • Experience within ecommerce or transactional software platforms.
    • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar agile tooling.
    • Exposure to scaling technology businesses or high growth environments.
